Efrain Carhuallocllo Salvador has a 4-hectare farm in the village of El Corazon in the district of Chirinos, where he is known as one of Peru's most innovative coffee producers. He participated in Peru's first Cup of Excellence competition and, although he didn't win and placed second, his coffee was considered by many to be the best in the competition. He has also won numerous awards at local and national competitions and is considered one of Peru's most distinguished coffee producers.
On his plantations, Efrain grows Caturra coffee varieties (yellow and red) and a wide range of Geisha. The harvested coffee is fermented for 48 hours and then dried on African beds, a carefully managed process to ensure even and slow drying for longevity. The drying process usually takes around 25 days.
